Terthe is a world of modern technology & chicanery, diplomatic intrigue, and cryptic but definite magic.
Unbeknownst to Terthe’s general populace or ‘the Riskless’, factions of magicians vie for power, peace or the destruction of the world. Immortal heroes and undying villains lead these hidden organisations, battling in the front lines of a dozen conflicts each. Aiding these powerful individuals may be several hundred mortal’s adept in the magic disciplines. Some having arcane, divine or infernal lineage, military expertise or a silver tongue.
In other cases the faction is a thick blooded family where ones only option is to further the cult or company you are born into. Additionally, smaller bands of mages or lonely individuals perfecting their disciplines, be it benevolent or twisted magic, secret themselves from the public’s eye. Vampires, Lycanthropes, Demons, artificial Gorgons and plethora of other ‘monsters’ exist; many nearing extinction in a world dominated by humanity. Genetic variants of the human race are being made in labs. Elves, Dragons and other ‘fictitious’ beings are occasionally drawn into Terthe from its sister worlds Aarde and Dan-Erring by Conjurers. Ancient artefacts are being uncovered daily; what remains of early magic is primitive, and occasionally destructive. To top it all off, if it weren’t for self-preserving factions, legions of zombies raised by an unstable Necromancer would likely have taken over Terthe by now.
